VAC Is not Enabling
#1
VAC is known to enable on start up, it isn't enabling on our servers, since the last update..

We do not have -insecure or anything in the command line...

We have disabled firewalls and everything ont he servers to see if it'd run, it didn't.
As well we have ran updates on the server...

Anyone else experienced this problem, or having this problem. As well as know how to deal with it?.

We're seeing the same thing on our Linux servers. We just keep restarting them till VAC is enabled. It usually starts working within 5 restarts.

Really? , I think we have tried restarting them. Maybe not the owners of the boxs might have not wanted to restart the servers 5 times....

How long did VAC enable stick tho?

Err, I should have been more specific. We restart srcds, not the whole, physical server.

After it's enabled, it usually sticks till we start up srcds again.

Be sure VALVe ports are open to the internet and not in use by any other service of so kind. I prefer to run gameservers only on the standard ports, and no problems so far.

Seen problems on servers on let's say port 27020 / 27017, VAC not comming up.

Well, we have taken down the firewall alltogether.... So, i doubt its the ports. When i get home, i'm gonna ask if they didn't put -insecure or anything int he command line. Ect. And ask them for the command line. (i'm one of the minoins)

It isn't a home server.

What are some commands that make vac not run? maybe we should check for these.

-insecure in startline

But doublecheck if all ports are open for srcds. On what port are you running srcds? Did you put the srcds.exe file in the firewall to have full access to the internet?

We took down the firewall..... Took it down... So its not ports... unless the company in which it goes through to VAC is blocking em. but i cannot check that.

On what ports do you host the gameservers and what other ports are in use by any installed service?

Can you post the output of a "netstat -ano" command ??

Well as of now, vac does not run on windows 64 edition. So that might be the problem you are having.

VAC1 does, only VAC2 doesn't work on 64bit.
