[CSGO] SRCDS causing CPU spikes
#1
Hi

How come my CPU is spiking like this? [Image: spike.png]

My system is running only 2 SRCDS servers from which have each their own installation folder.

The startlines are as folloing:

Quote:1st server:

start /high /wait srcds.exe -console -game "csgo" -maxplayers_override 10 +mapgroup "mg_bomb" +map "de_dust2" -ip 192.168.1.50 -port 27024 +exec gamemode_competitive.cfg -usercon +game_type 0 +game_mode 1 +exec server.cfg -secure -tickrate 128

2nd server: (identical but different port)

start /high /wait srcds.exe -console -game "csgo" -maxplayers_override 10 +mapgroup "mg_bomb" +map "de_dust2" -ip 192.168.1.50 -port 27026 +exec gamemode_competitive.cfg -usercon +game_type 0 +game_mode 1 +exec server.cfg -secure -tickrate 128

Server CFG on botch servers are like following:

Quote:// IMPORTANT

hostname "test"
rcon_password "test"
sv_password ""

// HIBERNATION
sv_hibernate_when_empty 0
sv_hibernate_postgame_delay 5

System:
Quote:Windows Server 2008 R2 (fully updated)
Intel i5 2500 3.4 GHz QuadCore
8GB 1600MHz RAM
100/100 MB Fiber Optic internet (1 user)

I am so lost by now that I have no clue if the problem is SRCDS or the machine or Windows. It is a completely standard installation of Windows Server 2008 R2.
I've tried:
- restarting the network
- forceing a new external IP
- Resinstalling Windows Server 2008 R2
- Reinstalling SRCDS
- Bought new expensive ass router
- Upgraded from 1333 ram to 1600 MHz RAM
- Running different affinity settings

I've discovered that running the servers at tickrate 102.4 makes it a lot more stable

102.4 Tick with 18 players playing at the server

128 Tick with 17 players playing on the server.

My question now is, am I doing something wrong with 128 tick, or is it just buggy on Windows?
