Very Confused

Hi everyone,

So I recently installed a tf2 sever using steamCMD. I followed the exact instructions (I think) and watched about a million YouTube videos on it. Just so you know, I have installed metamod and sourcemod (and yes, I have done that correctly; I've done it before) just to play around with plugins.

I go to C:\server\tf2 and the file which should be srcds.exe is hl2.exe!
I created a .bat file to run it and it just opens tf2 in my account!

Is this a massive problemo or am i missing something?

I would really appreciate it if someone can help me; i'm really confused. I have made many a srcds in the past and i don't understand what has gone wrong

You may have to install the server again. This time then try to find a guide on this forum, they will work.

Thanks SuzmA, but I've installed a brand new server (again via steamCMD) and the file which should be srcds.exe is still hl2.exe!!!!
I am really confused. I'm sorry to keep pestering this forum but I must've searched 99% of the internet looking for an answer and I still haven't found one!!!!!!!

I'm really sorry to keep bugging you, but this IS the guide i followed when i was making the last two servers. I made another one. Still no srcds.exe. Would it be possible to just dropbox a template for a server and then people could download it as a .zip? I know this is what steamcmd does automatically and it would be a gigantic file but still...

If not then couldn't someone just dropbox srcds.exe?
