Edit Reason: added os

I've been running linux for about two months now, and before that was running windows 2k8 r2 server. I can say I'm well accustomed to linux now for the most part, and I've run into zero issues. Can definitely say I'd prefer linux over windows for servers any day. My only issue is, where are the crash dump files? /tmp/dumps is not it, and of course they're not stored in each gmod server's root. I know crash dump files for linux servers are a thing since I have seen various people make use of the mdmp/dmp files and such, but I cannot find them anywhere, and absolutely no searching has shown or told me where to find them. How does crash dumping work for linux srcds?
edit: If it matters, I'm running debian 7
