Hello, I have exactly the same problem on two pc's since yesterday, except the dll involved is matchmaking_ds.

Posted there as well : http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3239437

Try updating your server again with the "+validate" command.

have already tried that i have validated it 3 times now still get the popup that first image then the second popup (second image) and i have tried deleting the server files entirely and downloading it again this is my update server.bat

steamcmd +login (user) (password) +app_update 510 validate
it then says Success! App '510' already up to date.

I was wondering if this is just my server on L4D doing this..? because there was a update 3 days ago

It could in fact be possible that it's left for dead itself. However, I haven't been able to verify that.

Could you help? my skype is bradnewstead

from what I've been reading (based on past posts) there is something wrong with the latest update of the game that is causing this. this has happened in the passed where an update broke the game, causing the same error you are having. best bet is to wait for valve to release a patch.

you could try this though: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=229883

Its fixed. someone sent me their files to replace the files in their L4D folder (its the previous update files) it fix's it:

2. Replace the files from the archive and it will work.

p.s.

If you use the files from the client ... it's a very bad idea.
The client must be separately and a server separately. Since they use different .dll with the same name. Client will not work with files on the server and the server will not work with the client files.

I get a very similar message but with matchmaking_ds.dll
Please let me know if you still have the files as the above link no longer works
