CS:GO My DM Server Lags When Im Having Over 30 bots on the server
#1
Question
Hi Im hosting my cs go dm server on my windows gaming computer and play on it at the same time (I dont think thats the problem) but im wondering is the bots causing more lag than normal humans do on the server because my SV is jumping down and up and just because no one join the server im not able to see if it lags with more players, Im really interested in the people who hosts the zombie servers with 64 players how the hell is the server capable of something like that. And I got 100/100 Internet So Possibly That Is Not The Problem.

I Bought My Computer For;
18000 SEK
2811,36 USD

Im having -tickrate 128 on the server and the rates;

sv_maxcmdrate 128
sv_maxrate 0
sv_mincmdrate 128
sv_minupdaterate 128
sv_maxupdaterate 128
fps_max 400
sv_minrate 30000
sm_cvar sv_unlag 1

I also have the srcdsfpsbooster thats why the fps_max is 400.

My server management knowledge is a little rusty so please bear with me. the general rule of thumb that most mods and other members (when i used to be very active) was to never host and play on the same computer, so that could in fact be your problem. Now i will admit I've broken this rule quite a bit a still do whenever I decide to how a server, and i generally don't have any issues (granted I have yet to host a cs:go server). If you list the specs of your computer (processor, ram, etc) we can determine whether it is hardware or not.

Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
CPU Speed: 3.7 GHz
RAM: 8.2 GB
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series Crossfire
AMD High Definition Audio Device
Free Disk Space: 237.8 GB

I posted everything I know off let me know if I have miss something!

Also I Am Using My Hard Drive (D:) To Host It On Is It Going To Go Better If I Host It On My (C:) SSD Disk? Noobish question.

Bots use more resources because the server has to "play" for each bot. You'll need a dedicated server to run that many bots efficiently.
