Making a plugin?
#1
Question
Do these admin mods just simply change variables
for example banning people - add to banlist and kick

I just want the basics like kick ban slap add bot remove bot change gravity.

I used to have mani admin but some people complained bout mani saying it decreased reg is this true?
Id imagine mani was pretty refined.

would it be quite easy just to code your own plugin. Was thinking of somekind of online admin panel where admins could look up players records to see if they had tked in the past and find info about them like a criminal database kinda idea. More like an advanced tracking system.

PS does cs log ping for a more accurate location tracker

You can try beetlesmod (more or less the same as mani, only good support under windows. No tickrate drops like with mani mod).

One mod I've seen with just a few commands: Basic Admin Plugin. You have to combine this mod with Source Metamod.

Just a question: if the server is public, why bother the few tickrate drops? If it's private: don't use a admin mod, you don't need it. Also: I have never experienced any tickrate drops on W32 servers running beetlesmod (t100 servers). Seen it on mani, but it can also mean the servers load is just too high.

did you just say w32 servers? is tht a clan by any chance.
I did try beetlemod on my old xeon server but it didnt work very well due to it running linux. Mani seems to have some tick drops. Id be running a public and private server but in my experience people on pubs go were the reg and tick is best.

Well, Ive coded a lot of things for the srcds, and partly my own vertion of this. But if you dont have extencive coding experience I would go for Mani og beatle. I used Mani myself for some time, ppl complained yes, but 90% of the complaints are usualy about things the gamers dont understand, including ticks... So unless you can see the problems clearly I wouldn change a system that allready works, the reason is that things usualy just get wors...Toungue

neon, If you are such a good coder, beetles is still looking for a partner who can recode his windows mod to linux.

In my opinion windows performance is far better than linux for source games. So I use windows 2003 server edition and beetlesmod.

Also: a lot of shit in mani mod like: beacon, burn, etc is useless. Mani mod definately drops tickrate and reg.

I really don't like working for someone, I am coding my own admin mod at this time. So why would I start working for beatlemod? And well, it depends on how you are using your admin mod, beatle can allso couse tick drops, the thing is, when you download mani and install it, you download and install about 90 functions that you dont needToungue you can deactivate them, but this is usually not for the common manWink Becouse this reqires a lot of pasiens... So something like Basic Admin Plugin for metamod:source is greate for ppl that dont need 100 000 functions in theyr admin mod
