HELP PLEASE - SRCDS
#1
Ok, hi,
Overall, i think i got this whole things sorted out.
I got the server all set up, its ready to go, just now nobody can connect to my games bar me.
So,i have been looking about these forums and i have followed your instructions.
Sv_Lan 0 <- set in server.cfg
And as you will see in a moment via the screenshot, i am in the process of forwarding port 27015 UDP/TCP.
However, i dont know which Server IP Address to set it to..

Thanks In Advance.

Vel, as far as I can see, you shuld set this one to your internal ip. an example is 10.0.0.8 or 192.168.2.43, but you have to find your own internal ip before entering anything.
Deep into the darkness. Pearing long I stod there, wondering, fearing, doubting.

Ok,
ive got this sorted, but how i have a further problem.
Every time, about 10 minutes into the server startup or so, it will hang for a minute or two.
Then when i get back, my internet connection has died, and i have to restart to get anything back.
This happens when im playing AND when im not playing on the server...
Any help?

Well this looks like a problem with your host, try resetting your ruter, then restart your server..

When you reset your router, remember that you'll get a new internal IP if it isn't a static IP...

if your router loses connection after 10 minuts of use. it means your router isn't very stable. which means. you need a better router probly. do all the computers conected to the router lose internet connection?

you could also try to update your routers firmware.. that may help.

Ok, if it comes back again i will look into that..
But now i have a further issue(s)...

1. How do i tell if my server is dedicated or what does that mean exactly?
2. i only turn my server on when i choose to use it, but every time i do so the ranks on the server are reset... what gives?

1. If your server is a NCS ( None client server) that means that if its running from example srcds, or the tools menu under steam, this is a dedicated server, If you are starting CS:S and then running "create server" then this is a none dedicated server.

2. When you quit your server the admin plugin (I gues its mani) isnt loging the ranks down...

1. running from SRCDS XD
2. ok, yeah i use mani, so should be as simple as turning
log "off"
to log 1

right?

or is there something else? this is everything i have in the server.cfg under logging

// server logging
log 1
sv_logbans 1
sv_logecho 1
sv_logfile 1
sv_log_onefile 0
