SOLUTION to uncompress not found!

Okay I found how to get uncompress to work on hldsupdatetool.bin...


In srcds_l folder type:

ln -s /bin/gunzip /bin/uncompress && ./hldsupdatetool.bin

It should bring the license up, say yes, and there

or one can just install ncompress
either or works.
Or you can use a better os that actually doesn't give off that problem, namely gentoo :0

Awesome, I'm going to try that out when I get home. I had been having the same uncompress errors and people told me to install ncompress. I'm a linux noob though and couldn't figure out how to do that.

I didn't get to test this out because I finally figured out how to install ncompress. Yum on Fedora makes it so easy
