Reboot a server (the actual machine) or game server?

ftp, no, because thats just a file transfer protocol, really all you can do with ftp is transfer files. to reboot a game server, just a simple rcon exit does it. as long as you have something to start the server up again.
and for the actual machine, you would probly have to remote desktop it, that would be about the easiest. theres probly a way to set it up as a scedualed task so the computer reboots by itself at a certain time, but im not exactly sure how to accomplish that, lol.

well i dont know how do do it. if i do rcon exit wont it jsut shut it down?
how do other people who own a server and only have FTP acess do it? do they call up the provider and ask them to reboot it? Thanks BuIIeT

you would need to get something like serverchecker.. which right now i don't have a link to.. but its been posted a lot around here, lol.
what serverchecker does is it starts up the server, and then in the event of a crash (or rcon exit) it restarts the server.
