I have an IP address, i need to trace to the exact location. Maybe this have nothing to do with srcds, but i don't know where else to ask, since i know you guys are pretty smart..

The best tool for this is GeoIP. The free, offline version is used by a lot of server plugins AFAIK.

Is there a more "exact" tool, which can give me an adress, maybe a name or something? I need to know who the person is behind this IP adress. It took me a long time to get it tho

Are you looking for a person's home address?

Or is this off a server?

If it's a person's home address you cannot get exact location. It will most likely be the town he lives in that you will see. You would need to contact the ISP... But even then, they wouldn't give their client's information out if it's for no reason... A court ordered document is another story.

If you're trying to report a server, and the server happens to be hosted in a data center... when looking up the IP you will find a Abuse email which is where you would email your complaint.

I need to find out where this person lives. I have the persons IP adress, hostname ect. Also, its from an iPad. I see what the persons city is, very close to me, but i dont know the address.

As I mentioned previously. You will not be able to finds his address, unless you get like a court order or something.

If you're looking up his address, for the sake of looking it up, you're unfortunately not going to get very far.

You can trace the ip address using the site IP-Details.com here it display Internet service provider, IP location, Country, Latitude. Longitude and so on..
