enough power for tickrate 100?
#1
Hi
I've got a problem with srcds on a debian system. My goal was to run a source dedicated server with tickrate 100 on a Pentium 4 3.0GHz and 1GB RAM. I set all parameters to run well with tickrate 100, but when i connect to play, then i only get 50 packets per second. the client is not the problem, because on other servers i really get 100/s in.
Is this PC too weak for tickrate 100 or are there any other settings to do?
Please help!

some entries from server.cfg:
sv_allowdownload 1
sv_allowupload 1
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
sv_maxrate 0
sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_minupdaterate 30

start with:
screen -dmS Source ./srcds_run -game cstrike +maxplayers 20 -port 27100 -sport 27101 +map de_dust -autoupdate -tickrate 100

the connection to the internet is 100Mbit.

Ya you need to make sure your kernel latency timer is set to 1000 hz, or atleast higher than 100, you could try 250 500 or what ever.
