Server won't show up in internet for friends!!
#1
The server will connect if its in my friends favorites, but it wont show up in "Internet"!
It USED to work.
I Updated my router firmware, forwarded ports 27015-27015 TCP/UDP, and it says adding master server 68.28.151.162:27011, 207.173.177.11:27011

Iopened ports on my firewall, what else should I do?
It's a Gmod9 server.
I've done sv_lan 0 and heartbeat too.

alright, it won't show up in the internet list for you? or for other people outside your local network. because if the router is on your local network there is a good chance you won't see it on the internet tab.

Lot of times it'll take awhile before your server is searchable on steams list.

How can I get it off my local network?

heres a tutorial i wrote explaining routers, and ips, and how to set up your router for srcds. http://forums.srcds.com/showthread.php?tid=1847

in short to answer your question, with port forwarding through your router you get it off your local network.

how do you know the server isn't online, because you probly won't be able to see it on your internet list at all, just on the lan list, but if you have your ports forwarded right other players will be able to connect through your external ip address, where you will ALWAYS have to connect through the lan ip address.

I ask my friends on msn messenger if they see it, and they say no.

are you positive you gave them right right ip? and that you forwarded the ports right? could you post your servers ip here? so i could check it, just to make sure.

all i did is start the server typed sv_lan 0 when into the master server list typed (example: Map:Scoutzknivez) then i looked for my server name right clicked view server info and then it would have a copy of the ip that every else would see its completey different frm what u think it is it has ur ip in it but its usually never 27015 its random say like EXAMPLE:68468 or 63838 thats the best way to do it i know that would work

ooo.. your router changes the port.. thats bad. it should always be 27015. but yea.. copter character.. what router do you have? and yea.. i overlooked the obvious, make sure sv_lan is set to 0, lol. also to find if its changing your port, go to something like http://www.game-monitor.com and search for your external ip without the port, and it should give the server to you if its open to the public, and tell you what the port is.

and joker, your router shouldn't change the port like that, if you have a d-link router, this might work to stop it from changing the port.. http://forums.srcds.com/showthread.php?tid=1774&pid=9036#pid9036

So i put the server on another computer, and reinstalled GMOD9 onto the server.
It works! People strat joining, etc..

ANd then, I exit srcds, go back on it, and it doesn';t work anymore.
There were no LUA or mods installed when I first started it, and then i installed lua and mods while the server was running.
Now it doesn't work anymore!
I hate reinstalling just to get it to work.
I have All ports forwarded to 192.168.1.4, but it still doesn't work!
My router is a Netgear WGR614v5

I also upgraded the firmware to the latest one, but that went horribly wrong. MY laptop couldn't connect to the router, so I downgraded to default drivers.
