5 years with SRCDS.com and general inactivity

Hey everyone,

Some of you may not recognize my name, in the pas I have gone as Goilio and King Goilio.

This is my 5th year as a part of the SRCDS.com community and what fun it has been. While I have not been active here 100% of the time I do drop in occasionally to clean up the forums and such.

It is a shame to see that this community has started to slow down and not many of the regular members left. Which is why I'm running this promotion to try and get more active members on here helping others.

I own Versatile IT (http://versatileit.com.au) we sell Virtual Private Servers. I will be giving away 2 512MB RAM plans with 2 months free. During these 2 months I will support the setup and general running of the servers. I will not however do it for you, I will only help.

If the 2 people decide to stay active on here helping people from the knowledge I have given them I will continue to give them free months.

To win these you must, in a reply, state why you want it, what previous experience you have and what game it will be. The more original your reply is the more likely I am to choose you.

I will be choosing 2 people and will guide them through the whole process from the VPS setup to the SRCDS setup and running.

Hello there.

I am a rather recent member here, however i stumbled upon your post and thought i might share my story.

Recently (within the past week or so) i purchased a new personal computer. The specs are as follows:

Intel i7 3.4 Ghz
16 gb ddr3
Asus Motherboard Au6830?
nvidia gt 630

I am telling you this, because i want you to know that i put time, effort, and consideration into this build. And it is long past due.. Up until this week i was operating on a Pentium IV 756 mb w/ a nvidia 6600.
She did a beautiful job.

My recent upgrade has been long overdue.
I am an avid cs player.

However, i have always wished to host a server.
cs_office and dust have always been potential.

Although recently, and especially after looking through the workshop today, i think there might be quite a few maps on the rotation. lowlands anyone?

But i digress..

Eventually i would like to have these servers up and running and was thinking about doing a beta on the (pc) i just bought. And then i saw your post.

Any ideas and or feedback would be appreciated.
