A question about linux kernel..

Hello.
I want to ask a question to you [ this is some private ques ]

Topic: Hlds cpu usage's.

Centos 5.9 - kernel 2.6.18 => hlds is using %40 cpu at 32/32 player in map de_dust2

now other distro,

Debian 6.0.6 - kernel 2.6.32 => hlds is using %75 cpu at 32/32 player in map de_dust2

and,
Centos 5.9 - kernel 2.6.18 => hlds is using %0 cpu at 0/32 player
Debian 6.0.6 - kernel 2.6.32 => hlds is using %5-7 cpu at 0/32 player.Cool


is this a problem ? or we are doing wrong things...
I want use debian but cpu usage is terrible. So i have to go with centos. Can i fix this cpu usage a way ?

This post is old, but if anyone comes across this make sure that your CPU isn't being throttled. You can either disable C-States in bios if you have access or use the cpufrequtils to set the performance governor.
