Cant connect to dedicated server but listen server works
#1
so I usually play Gmod with friends using a listen server ingame but I want to use a dedicated instead because it will allow us to customize the game mode we are playing. I set up the server isntalled everything and updated but I'm having a little problem joining it. No one can join the server even me but everyone can join when I make the listen server. I dont know what is causing this but I would like to get it fixed. Just post what info you need from me and I will post it on here. Thanks in advance

I need to know more about what is going on. Have you set up the configuration? Have you setup the command line properly. What tells you that the server is running in the first place or even more allowing people to connect to it?

Nake sure that in your server.cfg you have sv_lan 0
If sv_lan 1 the server will only work ias a lan.
At least that's what they say.

you opened the ports 27015 and 27016 on your router or modem and
put sv_lan 0 in your server.cfg?

You should list Your Server.cfg without any passwords. Then, mabe You'd get more help. What is Your sv_consistency set to? Is there a password to join the server? Sv_cheats 1? or 0?.. Can You see Your server on Steam? What is Your "sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 or 1"?
