SteamCMD Error Failed to request App Info

First of all, I'd like to mention I hate SteamCMD with a passion.

I am using Ubuntu 12.04. Here are the steps i took:
1. wget http://blog.counter-strike.net/wp-co...teamcmd.tar.gz

2. tar zxvf steamcmd.tar.gz

3. STEAMEXE=steamcmd ./steam.sh

4. login myuser mypass steamguardcode

At this point steamcmd outputs:

Quote:Logging in user 'myusername' to Steam Public...Success.

5. force_install_dir ./cs_go/

6. app_update 740 validate

At this point SteamCMD responds with a very annoying:

Quote:ERROR! Failed to request AppInfo update, not online or not logged in to Steam.

Hmm... didn't it just say I logged in successfully?

Ok.. maybe ill try deleting it and starting over... oh wait did that 3 times already and SteamCMD still doesn't want to work. Hmm.. maybe ill wait and see if SteamCMD works a few days from now, oh wait I already did that.

So I ask... why does SteamCMD not like me?
