Gmod 13 TTT server lagg

i have been hosting my server for a few days now and it had ran without any problems.
however today ive had massive lagg (1000+) when player count goes over 3.

getting 55Mbps Download
and 2.25Mbps Upload

Max players is 18

have never used any setting like the following before i had this problem but tried them and had no luck...

I'm assuming this server is hosted from your home. If so, does anyone else in your home use your network because that may be the case. They were probably downloading, streaming videos off websites like youtube, or playing a game.

Usually when hosting a server you need at least 5 mbit upload if you don't want any lag. There also might be the case that you were getting DoS'd. It's a very common thing to happen to servers on Garry's Mod when a little kid gets mad because he either doesn't get his way or you ban him.

If you don't know what a DoS attack is, it's called a Denial of Service attack or Distributed Denial of Service attack (DDoS) if it's more than one system attacking you. Since you didn't go down I would take out the possibility of it being a DDoS attack or just being a weak one at that. If you have access to your routers firewall logs, I highly recommend checking them and if you have over 500+ inputs of the same IP I would assume it was an attack of some kind.

think the problem was ISP capping speeds.
