Answer these three questions then;
1) Did you check if the so-called DoS attack was taking up your entire connection?
2) If 'no' to the first question, did you apply the iptables rules I sent you and modify them accordingly?
3) Do you have "Query Cache", DaF or any sort of plugins installed on your servers to minimize the attack?
