Server wont start...

[/size]Hey, it's cybercub!
I don't know why, but when I try to run my garrysmod server, a black box popes up and goes away REALLY fast. I don't even have time to read it.

The batch script im using to start my server is

srcds.exe -console -game garrysmod -port 27015 +maxplayers 6 +map gm_construct +sv_gamemode sandbox +sv_defaultgamemode sandbox

Please help, it never used to do this It's really annoying!!!

Try to update your server with this batch (script) command:

Quote:C:\HLServer\hldsupdatetool -command update -game (put game here) -dir C:\HLServer

also what mods are you using if any? because most mods had to update their software and make something called a gametypes.txt for your cfg\(your mod here) folder!! but if it is something else, you must contact another member.

Alright in order to run Garry's Mod you need to install a couple of games with it.

List of games that need to be installed:

• Counter-Strike Source
• Team Fotress 2
• Day of Defeat Source
• Half Life 2
  

Commands you want to run:

hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir "gmod directory here"
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "tf" -dir "gmod directory here"
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "hl2mp" -dir "gmod directory here"
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "dods" -dir "gmod directory here"

Note: When installing counter-strike you want to drag the cstrike folder into the orangebox directory after it's done installing

You also want to make sure your gmod is up to date by running the gmod installation command an additional time.
