definitely not an expert, but, is the exe for hl2update tool in the srcds folder? if so, i had a similar problem with a friends server, all you have to do is move the exe to a different folder.

When you're getting that error it means that the service or program is currently running in the background. You will need to terminate the process using the Task Manager ( Right click task bar or Ctrl + Alt + Del )
Also the first time you run the hldsupdatetool.exe you will need to install it to a directory by double clicking the executable. Once hldsupdatetool.exe downloads the latest version to whatever directory you install it to ( Default: C:\Program Files\Valve\HLServer ). You need to run this new exe with the shortcut or batch file to download the game files.

Okay, so I defined hldsupdatetool to the updated hldsupdatetool in the downloading command thingy, but then it just gave me MDMP files...

You need to specify your directory in quotes as it has a space in it.
AND I would highly recommend NOT using the Program Files directory as some Antivirus / Security settings are more strict on those directories. Create a new one such as "C:\GameServers" Your install command line should be: hldsupdatetool -command update -game "left4dead" -dir "C:\GameServers"

Okay, it seems that it is working now. I've done as you said and it's downloading the server files.
But now I got this error messege; (sorry for the messy picture)

Try only running one update at a time. Not all of them at once.

Yeah, I ran it again and it downloaded the missing game. Thanks for all your help!
