CS:S dedicated server advice
#1
I seem to be having a variety of issues with creating a dedicated cs source server.
i have followed http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?subaction=showfull&id=1097362093,
i am wondering if when it specifies to run "c:\srcds\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate"

does the "cstrike" have to be "Counter-strike source" ? i have been unable to start a server this way.

So I went into my steam tools and installed and created a "source multiplayer dedicated serer" i opened 27015 port on my router and succussfully launched a dedicated server. in the last tab on the dedicated server window, it specifys that my server has a public ip and it has been given a steam server id and that it is vac secured.

when i try to connect to the server with my other desktop, i can see the server in the LAN tab, but cannot connect to it. I tried to connect to the public IP that is displayed on my server, but it did not connect, instead on my server i got the msg "S3: Client connected with ticket for the wrong game: UserID: 2".

any ideas would be much appreciated! thank you.
