Help with CSS Dedicated server
#1
Hello guys and gals, first time posting!

I have a, IMO, kind of wierd problem with a dedicated CSS-server hosted at home. For some time now, me and my friends have played on the server and it has been working fine. We decided, however, to try some PCW and found out that no one else has been able to connect. we have tried with over 10 different groups found on IceChat, but no one is able to connect with the same ip, port and pass I gave my friends. The server is obviously not running in LAN, since one of the friends able to connect lives a 3-hour drive away from me. Anyone able to help me find out what's the problem.

I used this guide to set up the server, and except from this problem, everything is running smoothly. http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=HL2Guides.Detail&id=4&game=3

Router: Thomson Gateway, connected via wireless (I know, i know...)
Local IP of Server: 192.168.1.83
External IP: 81.231.99.20
Port Forwarding Screen Shot: All ports forwarded according to this guide: http://planethalflife.gamespy.com/View.php?view=HL2Guides.Detail&id=4&game=3

Thank you for help!

EDIT: I could also mention this, the server does not show up when you search for it in "internet" inside the game.

As I said, all my teammates and friends can connect, and they live far away so it's not on lan. :/ For that to work, the ports have to be open. I've tried, and if the ports aren't open, the server won't start at all.

As a test have you tried disabling your Windows firewall if it's on? Also might try setting up your PC as a DMZ just to see if it fixes the issue. Also some antivirus firewalls will be weird on who they choose to block and not. There's a lot of variables that can have an effect on a "home" setup.
