I know there are many other factors to consider (e.g. bandwith, network, RAM etc...) but if you had a choice of high speed Dual core processor or a slightly lower speed Quad Core dedicated machine which you can rent from a game server company, which would give your individual games best performance.
I am looking to run games such as CSS, and also the new CSGO when that comes out on a Windows 2003 or 2008 Server machine. At the moment I am evaluating prices.
To give an example, Intel Dual Core 2.66 Ghz or Intel Quad Core 2.4Ghz?
Is it worth setting each server to be run on one core, or allow srcds to run across all cores?
