Hi my friend now want set a new game server.

Wich is the best linux distro for game servers?

I reed in old thread, the debian is good. But it's steel good for game servers?

Yea use debian. Good. Bit i dont know. How its work whit standard kernel now. We have compiled ur own.

ubuntu server edition has many (if not all) advantages of debian plus a better kernel etc. from the beginning... so it might be even slightly better.

I'd suggest the latest. It has many fixes and so on.

agreed. for game servers the most recent (stable) versions are usually the best.

I have different opinion of advising you Debian and CentOS.. Well as you see it's all about personal preferences.

CentOS is the dumbest choice. It requires a hell of a configuration job to make it even run servers smooth, and it's kernel is not up to date at all.
