Need help with linux for cs 1.6 server!

Hey guys, I'm clueless where to start concerning creating a high FPS counter strike 1.6 server. I'm newer to linux and need to learn how to do this. I have no Idea what version to use or where to start, so far, I successfully created a 1.6 server in Ubuntu. But I'd like to make it a higher than 100 fps server. I'd be running server from a laptop.
