hello
i ahve currently having trouble getting the stand alone server running i ahve followed all of the instructions of this website and when i get to the download part it sayes Manifest checksum failed i ahve updated hldsupdatetool but when i type
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir C:\srcds
it comes up with that error
can anyone help

did you run the updatetool before running that command? by just double clicking it, or typing in only hldsupdatetool.exe?

I cant get that thing to work either. I get a few files and then it exits to dosWindows/shell.
This is from the dos Window and what I do;
D:\GameServers\srcds>dir
Volume in drive D is Store#01
Volume Serial Number is D48C-E49E

that just installd the hldsupdatetool... you have to download the server now. but running "hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game "game name" -dir "path to server""
you can just run hldsupdatetool in cmd prompt and it will tell you the game arguements if i remember right.

This is what I get when using this new updater

the new updater? o.0... hmmm.. did they release something i haven't seen yet. lol.. ill try to look into it a lil later.. i've been kinda busy though, so no promises.

I found the bugger. It seems to be hardcoded so you can only start the downlading with the hldsupdate.exe file from the C:. use of D:, E: and so on will not work.
If the folder has to be named srcds too, I do not know, but i wouldn't be surpised if it was hardcoded to c:\srcds..

I installed the server at f:\spil\hlserver...
No problems...

Yes, I could install to E:, but I could not run the installer file from E:.
