They probably got more than 1000 fps. Atleast that's my understanding of hlds.

dont know about how hlds works nowadays but back in WON-era, sys_ticrate should never be greater than 100 as it severely messes up the clock on clients, and animations go haywire. AI bots will move and turn like snails, choke goes up to 100 instantly, entities flash like crazy and the screen shows warning: cl_flushentitypacket, and it caused major prediction errors when jumping or shooting any projectiles. sure it reduced the ping by about 10ms but to this day i have no idea why people try and run HLDS past 100 fps.
