I have some questions to ask. When I join my server my ping seems to start at 180 and work its way down to 45, but when I join another server that is not mine my ping starts low and works it way up, any idea why. And some people's ping get high only on my server, it's hosted at a datacenter.
And when I type +fps_max 600 in the command line, then I type stats in console it shows 599 fps, BUT when I join the server it shows and I type stats it shows 150 fps why is that?

Your server probably can't support the high FPS. Drop it to 60... it really doesn't matter.

err... if you join the server, do you type "stats" or "rcon stats" into your client console?

I didn't meant you, Mooga... If mattb sees 500 fps directly on the server and 150 fps "when I join the server it shows and I type stats", then it might well be that 150 fps are his client fps... I don't want to imply anyone being stupid, but I have seen the strangest mistakes even from the smartest people ;-)

Using the fpsmeter it shows 500FPS when typing rcon stats into console. Posted threads by people or answers make it to believe typing "stats" is the server fps.
Is there a way, as I saw it on another server using the fpsmeter it showed 1000fps without "fps_max", how may I accomplish this?

Valve capped the fps to 500 (499) and they will soon remove it completely. There probably are ways to remove the extra sleep they added onto it, but I don't know the way, and i doubt any other forum members are going to help you with it either.

and it would be quite pointless, ideally you run with fps equal tickrate (i.e. fps_max 66.66)

How can I add 500 fps to a server without it being on the cmd line or server.cfg? Any help would be appreciated.
I was looking at the tickrate fps tutorial on the board here and say if you set your sv_maxrate to 0 and sv_minrate o 100000 better to have a high min rate and an uncapped maxrate?

What are the new fps rates? I saw 66 and 85. How would I set those same or when that new update comes it will have those rates installed and all I would have to do is put in fps_max 66?

There are no new fps rates? Just remove all fps_max parameters to achieve 500 fps without having it in your cfg's.

I saw a cs1.6 server using sys_tickrate 1500 +fps_max 0 to get a stable 1000fps on windows I would like to know how this was possible if there is no more fps.

HLDS wont show more than 1000 fps. You don't want more than 1000, you want exactly 1000 stable fps in HLDS.

What they did was sys_tickrate 1500 and +fps_max 0 to get a stable 1000fps on hlds.
