Server not showing up.
#1
Aight I got everything to work right so far. But some reason my main IP is not working for the master server list. I have the region set to 1 since im on the eastcoast in the us. Also I have all my ports forward and my settings in my router correct.

But for some reason I cannot use my direct ip addy it will only work with my router ips I have setup. But I think do to this it will only show as a lan due to it being a router IP how can I fix this?

I am through a Linksys Router WRGT54

Please can someone help me.

SO much for this still being active in the community world. Still having issues I added the master server stuff in my server.cfg file and the right region files. It only shows up my router ip not my static ip I made and it wont work for other players when they use my cable modem ip.

Pretty sure there is something wrong with the master list/vac/sv_region at the moment because Im having very similar issues trying to get mine in the list too. I use sv_region 5 for Australia and they never show up.

Done a lot of reading and there have been previous updates of the hldsupdatetool with sv_region bugs, maybe this is the case again.

You mean you expect people to join via your internal ip? (192.168.x.y)
That doesn't work (of course?)

Then how do I get steam to reconize my external ip the one my cable company provides through a router. I have all the ports forword all the masters servers added in my server.cfg file and the regions set right. How can I get my external ip to show up and not my router.

Out of the 100K posts on this forum, at least 5000 of them are discussing this very same problem and the very same solution.

When you're on the same LAN (Local Area Network) as your game server you will be UNABLE to communicate with your game server using the external IP address. YOU will need to use your private IP (192.168.*.*) to communicate with your game server.

Everybody else will use the external IP address:
What's my ip address, create your own visitors IP image
To connect to your game server.
