SRCDS won't start!

Today I had this problem where I srcds.exe wouldn't open. So I reinstalled it using HLDSUpdateTool.

After it all downloaded I tried to run srcds.exe again, but to no avail.

At first I tried just double clicking the exe, but that didn't work, so I decided to use a batch file:

srcds -port 27015 -game "Counter-Strike Source" +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 16 -ip 94.12.14.189 -console
pause

but that doesn't work either.

I have noticed that when I run srcds.exe, it appears in the task manager process list. It has a CPU usage of 25% (100% of one core) and it always uses ~1270k RAM.

I have added an exception in my antivirus, run as admin, tried compatibility mode (95/NT and XP SP3).

I tried adding it to DEP exceptions but Windows won't let me.

The game folder isn't always the same as the HLDSupdatetool alias.

That's not the problem. As I stated in my 1st post, srcds.exe wont go beyond ~1720k ram usage AT ALL. So I get no interface or anything. Just a useless process that eats 1/4 of my CPU.

Well, your first command line will NOT load the game files thus your RAM usage is low. If you want to shoot down my support so quick without trying it then this isn't the forum for you.

As well as it's possible that there are multiple problems. I have targeted one that needs to be fixed in order for srcds.exe to even load the game files.

Id find it quite odd that your game folder would be named "Counter-Strike Source"

Unless it's addon related your scenario should work.

But I have no addons (i.e. there is no addons folder and the cfg folder only contains the stock stuff, nothing custom).

But the console and UI version both dont work :L

Still doesn't work. I don't see how a different command line can make it work if even the UI version won't work.

I think I'm just gonna try and reinstall it again.

Update: Ok I reinstalled, but it still doesn't work.
