Put -tickrate 100 in your startup line. Its not going to do any difference to the gameplay tho, it's probably going to make it worse. The effect is just placebo.

Indeed! Your probably better off running 66 tic as Valve meant, they removed it for a reason lol.

Isn't the effect placebo? I mean, people thinks that "OH ITS GONNA WORK AWESOME MY SERVER WILL PWN EVERYONE ELSES BECAUSE ITS 100 TICK" but in reality it gets worse?

It could be the plugin was broken, with all the updates that Steam has put out the plugin could have very well broke.

@Towlie: When the orangebox update came out as a beta, I very early installed a server and started to play on it very often (to test plugins etc.), but still on the "old" server, sometimes even at the same evening. It took a very long time (shortly before the update was released) that I realized valve reduced the tickrate (I just did not look at the net_graph before). Ingame there was absolutely no difference at all in the gameplay (strafing, whatever).

So I have to disappoint you, it is really only a placebo effect. Even what difference you think there might be with strafing...

Btw: technically there is no difference in your own movements between different tickrates. Even with a tickrate of 10 strafing will still be the same. This is simply due to the interpolation and input prediction. All your own commands will be executed by your own client completely independent of the tickrate (but depending on your client fps). Only if the server gets a different result from the commands (which can only happen if there is a really heavy lag or if you are running some cheat) the server will force its result to the client. That's what usually is noted as a lag, as you (or your enemies) will jump a bit to the correct position.

I really don't think it's a placebo with bhop and strafe/surf compared to 66-100. Being that, I'll still run only 66FPS on 99.999999% of all my servers.

(There is a difference, and I know it)

There is a difference, and that is that the game runs much shittier with 100 tick than 66. Face the hard reality.
