TF2 "Unable to load steam library"
#1
So I get this message "Unable to load steam library".

I've tried
1) Fresh install
2) Install on another server
3) Firewall completely shut off
4) Another linux distro

None helped. And people can join my server by typing in the IP address, but can't see in master list.

help please Sad

I had this issue once before. Make sure the server files belong to your username.

Enter into your server directory in terminal with the "cd" command. (the one containing "orangebox" and "hl2")

Type this:

Code:
chown yourlogin:yourlogin ./*

That should work.

Thanks. But it still doesn't work Sad Still says "Unable to load steam library"

It's just like a private server now, it doesn't get listed in the master server list.

Sounds like you may have a firewall issue:

Thanks for the reply, but I've disabled my iptables. Is that not enough?
I did /etc/init.d/iptables stop

Leave IpTables on, I have no issue with that. Last time I got this I ran my server with the sudo command (sudo ./srcds_run -paramters here) just once, turn it off, then run it without sudo. Remember to never keep a server running as root.

Thanks for the advice, tried it, still shows "Unable to load steam library".

This is the parameter I run:
./srcds_run -console -tf +map mge_training_v7 +maxplayers 12 +ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xx -port 27015 +clientport 27015 -autoupdate -steambin /root/srcds_l/steam
