Friends can't join off me/others

This is my first time setting up SRCDS, and I think I missed a step.

People can connect to my server if they type "connect 68.23.34.2" (example external IP) in console. If they see me or someone else in the server (via "view game info" or "join game"), it comes up with the internal ip 192.168.1.10.

I set up the host ip in server.cfg to be 68.23.34.2, the ports are all open, I just can't figure out what the problem is where view game info is showing the internal IP and not the external.

My SRCDS command line is C:\SRCDS\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 33 -ip 192.168.1.10 -port 27015 -maxplayers 20 +map de_dust. I assume the ip in there has to be the internal one, because if I place the external there, I get a port error.

sv_lan is 0, I've read the FAQs/googled/etc, and I can't find what step I missed.

Well since your behind a NAT router you'll have to do some sort of NAT loopback so that they see your external IP address in the friends list. Other than that there is no real way of getting around it. They will have to just join from favorites / console.

this is an issue that happens sometimes. My friend runs a server behind my firewall, sometime it shows the external, sometimes the internal (it changes from time to time). One of my VPS customers experienced a strange error. Instead of showing the ip correctly, it showed it backwards like if the ip is 193.169.208.32, it shows 32.208.169.193.

When you connect to your server, don't join on your LAN IP, join on your public IP then your friends will see your server's IP in the "View Game Info" menu.

Uhh, Maybe the -ip Did you try removing that?
