rcon server control question

Hey I have a server that I started before i went out of town with the expectation of playing on it while I am gone, but I failed to remember to set up the steam_appid.txt file and I am getting validation rejection.

My question is if there is a way to change the appid on a server via RCON, or if i can use RCON to access the server console and write the appid text file.

Also will changing the map enable this change? or will a restart be required

Can you not ssh/remote desktop in and change it? I would imagine that would be the easiest choice.

No, I have neglected to set up any remote desktop and know nothing about ssh. If its not possible through rcon, its not a big deal since I will be returning in a few days. I was just wondering if it can be done
