[TF2] Weird Problem on srcds :(
#1
Hello,I've been trying to fix this all day and yet nothing....
For quite some time i had a server that worked perfectly (hosted with srcds on my PC).The ports were forwarded,Firewall configured, everything perfect. There were no problems at all but some clients said that the server is lagging so i said to myself i have a second PC why don't I use it? (It's kinda weak that's why ;d)So i copy/pasted the folder to my old PC Via the router. And here comes the madness...
When I tried to run it nobody could join...Alright i said to myself,I guess it's because I didn't portfoward the ports for my old PC.After a while,I forwarded the ports and everything was running cool, everyone could join EXCEPT me O.o
why the hell Cant i join my server...
I still had my server folder in my fast PC for testing plugins so i started another server from my other PC on port 27016 (it was already forwarded,27015 was forwarded on the old pc for the primary server.)And everyone could join even me....But when i tried joining my Old computer's server i couldn't. And there is one weird thing too,The old PC's server is not visible in my LAN list but when i tried searching it via the steam server finder and typed my static IP address i founded it pinged it added it to favourites tried to join it from there but again fail..
So I can't join it via a 192.168.xxx.... ip address neither a static one and i can't figure out what to do :S.Tried with DMZ,with command -ip (192.168.xxx...) and many others...

Please help and thanks for your attention and patience in reading all of this.

Well what errors were you getting when you attempted to join your server on the other PC? Unable to allocate port?

Well when i try joining it It says Connecting to (my ip).
Retrying connection to (my ip).
after 3 more sentences of this kind it says Failed to connect after 4 retries :S

Well I remember you from the steamforums, but I think you described the problem quite different there, so here's a different answer:

You said the ports were already forwarded for the server. What does that mean? Either you forwarded the ports for another computer so it might not work for your server since it has a different ip on your subnet (assuming that the forwardings are ip-related as usual), or you have already hosted a server on this server-pc before, in which case that's some important information that we are not aware of.

EDIT:
Actually, after rereading your posting on the steamforums, I have to say, that it's exactly the same posting. In this case, scratch out my answer on the steamforums, since it is bullshit.
Anyway, try to connect through your server with your external ip.

Tried but still nothing and no,I forwarded them correctly and checked the ip's 4 times before forwarding and saving the information to my router i even re-checked them now.About the ports, I ment that i forwarded them AFTER i copied the server from my PC, they weren't forwarded before that Smile
