I've recently/a year ago invested in the following hardware;

ASUS M4N78-AM
AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3GHz
Corsair BallistiX 4GB @ 900 MHz
Western Digital Blue 640GB

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3
AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2GHz
Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL8
Western Digital Blue 640GB

If i get both these co-located somewhere with a decent speed, how many slots would i presumably be able to host on them?

phew, i think about 200 slots on each machine. Make sure to compile your own linux kernel to take out some extra performance!

Depends on a lot. But 200 is my maximum. When you're using AMD, the difference in clock speed isn't the biggest, but if you compile a very lite linux kernel you will probably get some extra performance, yes.

But i'd be able to host atleast 150 slots on one of them?
