SRCDS not starting on correct port.
#1
Hi, first of all I think that this started to happen after v62.

I have 4 servers - PUB (port:27015), SURF+DM (port:27017), TRIKZ (port:27018) and TF (port:27020).

Always all servers were starting normally on that port what they have, but recently I see in console such crap..

For example when I want to start my TF2 after update (v63) on port 27020..

Quote:WARNING: Port 27020 was unavailable - bound to port 27022 instead
WARNING: Port 27005 was unavailable - bound to port 27007 instead
WARNING: Port 27020 was unavailable - bound to port 27023 instead
WARNING: Port 27040 was unavailable - bound to port 27042 instead
Network: IP 80.233.167.29, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27022 SV / 27007

And I am like - what the f***? Why even port 27020 is unavailable if it was available for months and I 100% know that other servers have dedicated ports 27015, 27017 and 27018. So how the f*** 27020 is unavailable?

Only thing what I can imagine that from (v62?) every srcds server takes 4 ports??? And that's why if I had started some other server this port is unavailable although I never wrote in other server startup line port 27020?

Really valve starts piss me off with all this updates (not going even to talk about ghost players and low cpu performance) and crap what is going on.

So someone can explain to me, why valve needs 4 ports 27022, 27023, 27007, 27042 and I cant start my server on 27020 port?

Really no one can answer why SRCDS since latest updates needs 4 ports and all that WARNING messages I see and why I can't start servers on right ports?

Okei, in tricky way I got it start to right port

status
hostname: WaZzZuP.Lv|TF2|HLstatsX
version : 1.1.6.0/17 4608 secure
udp/ip : 80.233.167.29:27020
map : koth_sawmill at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
players : 5 (24 max)

The way I got it start on right port was to start server with highest port first and then go down, like first start server with port 27020, then 27018.. etc.

Anyway, don't understand why I need to start servers in this order, I think that before v62 I could start servers in any order and there weren't any of this warning messages about 4 ports..

When you start a server. The main port is used for connections, but it also opens so me other ports for rcon and such which are a few ports higher. I would recommend putting 5 or event 10 ports between servers to be safe.

Please do not PM me for server related help

As Mooga tells, have an increment of 5 or 10 to keep a good overview of the usage of your ports. In your status-output the server is running on port 27020, so there shouldn't be a problem. :-)
