Time RMS
#1
I am running css server on i7 and windows7 and i can get stable fps ,an quality index over 99%, but Time Rms value stays always high (over 400). I know the lower the better,so i am wondering which setting controls Time RMS value,or what can be done to drop it down?

can you post the link to a measurement?

also keep in mind the time RMS value is in microseconds, 400 usecs is not really that high...

given that it is always above 200 fps it will be ok. on Windows I don't know how to improve it, but you can try fps_max 70 or so to limit the fps. ideal fps are equal tickrate (usually 66.7), so experiment a bit with the fps_max value until you have that value as close as possible on average. but it's important not to run with only slightly higher fps, slightly lower is ok (e.g. 68 fps is not good, 65 fps is good). if you cannot achieve that, stay with your current solution.

With fps_max 70 i do get 66.6 fps,but time rms still vary from 65~80 and I have seen somewhere on the forum that lads are getting Time Rms value like 7.5~10,so i think this is a big difference.
Well, this is not a big problem I just wanted to achieve as good results as I can.Thank You!
