Random server lag then crashes on startup

I currently have a garrysmod server, and every so often the server begins to lag for no reason. The ping of the server is initially fine and I can connect via remote desktop with no issue. After one of these events of "lag" the server will then crash and the watchdog will restart it. It restarts and fully loads where I can actually join and see the gamemode, but within 2 minutes of up time it'll crash again and it continues a persitent cycle.

Specs of the server? What game mode? How many players? Garry's Mod is VERY resource hungry, yet it could also be a mod.

Is there any errors in Windows Event Viewer if your running on Windows? Does the CPU spike before it crashes or something?
