Which one would be the best for hosting a(one) 32 slot garry's mod server on linux.

Because srcds doesn't have multithread support, should I just go with the Irwindale?

Or should I get a dual core instead of a dual processor?

The one that puts out the most performance for one server I want.

Or if you have a better dedi provider in mind for a reasonable price, please leave a suggestion Smile

All we have available is the following and we are located in Wholesale Internet (Kansas City) which is a more established and has a higher throughput than JDC. They also use the same bandwidth providers as JDC and is even located in the same building.

2.4GHz X3430 Quad Core
4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
160GB SATA II 7200 RPM HD
5 Usable IP Addresses
3TB Transfer on 100Mbps Bandwidth.
$88 / Month - Free 3 Day Setup

OR

3.1GHz Core i5-2400 Quad Core
4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
500GB SATA II 7200 RPM HD
5 Usable IP Addresses
3TB Transfer on 100Mbps Bandwidth.
$100 / Month - Free 3 Day Setup.

Both are great for game servers, The i5-2400 is awesome. However it is a little out of your budget, but would blow that Irwindale out of the water (http://cpubenchmark.net Look for yourself Toungue )

Sorry for the late reply.

That actually isn't out of my price range Toungue.

I actually have the Presler with 4GB ram upgrade, and people love my server and donate, and I thrive of donations, and actually $100 seems logical Big Grin.

But the lag is unbarable. At ~13 people, the server randomly spikes to 5-12 fps, but usually maintains 66.

I will look into it.

*EDIT*
I also take it you mean @sleekservers

Its $115 you liar! hahaha Smile

I'd run Garry's Mod at 250+ fps to avoid it. Even tho it is better to have a stable 66.67 fps.

Running it at a high fps doesn't make a difference with the spikes that bring it down to 3-10 fps.

Well, then there is A LOT of props in the server.

Edit: Oh lol, didn't see the 32 slot thing. Garry's Mod server + 32 players = doomed to failure unless you buy the most powerful equipment available..

It's $115 Ready to Go with Windows.

If you want Linux it would be $100, but I would need to get them ready. I will be back from vacation tomorrow.

PM me if you would like it. I only have one left.
