-console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 -maxplayers 24 -autoupdate

tickrate 100 -pingboost 2

[Problem/Issue:]

I've noticed recently that when i start my server up it isn't recognizing
some of the commands i have in the server.cfg - Those commands are
"sv_maxunlag, sv_unlag, sv_client_interpolate"

I'm sure these commands are essential to improve the game play
experience on a server. I may be wrong but surely this means something
is not right with my SRCDS?

- Also,

I've noticed the pings on my server are higher than most other servers.
My server does not exceed its RAM usage and hardly touches the CPU
with 24 players flat out.. BUT the pings are 60-70.. Maybe my two issues
are related to each other?

Heres what I have in my server.cfg regarding to my rates etc..

fps_max 1000
sv_minrate 13000
sv_maxrate 25000
sv_minupdaterate 34
sv_maxupdaterate 67
sv_mincmdrate 34
sv_maxcmdrate 67
sv_client_cmdrate_difference 1
sv_client_predict 1
sv_client_interpolate 1
sv_client_min_interp_ratio -1
sv_client_max_interp_ratio -1
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag 1.100

Thanks for taking the time to read this, any feedback would be muchly
appreciated.

those commands have been removed some time ago (I think during the orangebox update). it's not an issue, you simply do not need to (and should not) tweak this.

you can also remove -pingboost (was never present in srcds, only in hlds) and -tickrate (was also removed during the OB update, tick is now fixed at 66) from your startup line. and I would recommend running with lower fps. either run with 66.67 fps (exactly, esp. not slightly higher), i.e. use fps_max 70 or so. or run with 200~300 fps, that's enough to avoid any "aliasing" effects (see http://fpsmeter.org/p,fps.html).

your ping could be higher for a number of reasons. maybe your server is just badly connected to the internet. if the ping is stable it is not really an issue, real problems come usually from fluctuating ping. you can usually very little do about the ping, as it's caused by the connection and not by software (unless you have severe server-fps drops, resp. constant low server-fps, or some other real strange things going on - which is very rare).
