Why hotfile if you can use the steam updatetool to get the content?
./steam -command update -game orangebox
./steam -command update -game episode1
./steam -command update -game tf

and so on.

Those commands work for windos too if you replace ./steam with the windows .exe

./steam -command update -game garrysmod -dir /some/dir/gmod
./steam -command update -game orangebox -dir /some/dir/gmod

and so on worked for me.

Where exactly do you place the models and materials? I've been having trouble on where to actually place these. :/

The steam downloader didn't download all files which needed for Synergy, so you have to extract the files from the gcf-archive from your local steam or have to install wine and the steam-client on your server to download this files.

I'm not sure how much valve would love it that you're distributing their content in this manner.
