Yeah, but you have to be logged in to Dropbox to get that.

Ooh, I have an idea. Are you web server savvy? If so, download and install a web server like XAMPP and use that as your sv_fastdownloadurl. Although it would also be running with your game server which will defeat the entire purpose of a fastdownload.

Why can't you just not use a sv_fastdownloadurl? If you're only running a trade/achievement map, you shouldn't get much lag out of clients downloading maps. And if you do, it doesn't matter much.

The map, without Bz2 is ~70mb, net_maxwhatever (forgot command) only allows up to 64MB and it HAS to be in .bsp form...

That's true, it does download quicker if it's .bz2. Why don't you try 000webhost.com and see how it works out? According to their terms of service, you're not allowed to use your account to store files only. It doesn't apply if you create a 1-page website Wink

It's "verifying"? Unless that means it's still in the queue for setup, I've never had an account on 000webhost have to verify before.

Indeed. I started it like 3 hours ago, and hasn't verified yet. Said the Administrator was reviewing my account, like wtf?

Let me get this straight. You created an account on 000webhost.com, and it said that it had to be reviewed before it was setup?

What subdomain did you use?

steam-games.comxa.com

^ that was going to be my forum, but I decided to use it for fastdl, and that's the one that is being "reviewed"

I can even show you on TeamViewer if you want.

That's perfect; if you host a forum AND your fast download server, then it's not breaking the TOS.

Did it say that it had to be reviewed right after you registered it? Like before you uploaded any files?

Yeah, as soon as I logged in, I couldn't do anything, due to my account being reviewed.

That's interesting; I've never had that happen before. My sites there have had to be reviewed in the past, but not immediately after setup.

Do you need any help setting up a forum? I could help you out with that.

Most likely I will, I would also need a few admins/mods if you'd be interested? Smile
