how to create a half life 2 deathmatch server?? I'm newbie

To install a HL2: DM server you must first of all download the tool required.

There is a guide here, try this one first and if you encounter trouble ask for help here. Smile

I know this one is for CS:S, as you might see it. But you can replace "Counter-Strike Source" with "hl2dm" and then it will install it for you Smile

btw, do i have to go to SRCDS properties everytime i wish to change the map ? :/

Now, there's only 1 problem
My friends join my server, they play!(suppose in the morning)
In the evening, the server shows "not responding" to them even though the server is on and i can join.
And after that how much i try to restart the server, modem & pc, still it shows "not responding" to them...External ip is correct, checked 100 times..
any idea whats happening?

Are you running your SRCDS off the same computer that you play on?

Are you on a shared connection? This is not related to SRCDS as I see it.
