Was someone trying to crash my server?

Hey guys,

Just happend to notice in the logs a guy who is probably running a script or something and would connect/disconnect/connect etc.

He didnt manage to crash my server but I assume thats what he was trying to do, or at least lag it.

Here is what was turning up in the logs through out the night.

Is there much I can do to protect my servers, they're just starting to get popular now and the last thing I need is some kid screwing them up.

Did you cut off his SteamID? Else it was probably someone with an illegal version of the game trying to enter your server. Also reconnecting wouldn't crash your server. There was an exploit once, where a reconnect could crash your server. But that has been fixed by VALVe. It could be that exploit he has using.

Yes I removed his steamid and part of the IP. Thanks for the info

He was attempting to disrupt your server, why blank out his IP or Steam, name and shame!
