Best O.S. for server

Hi all, i dont know if the search engine had problems or what but i dont find any related topics with linux systems comparations, so, i know that a operational system its a personal choice, but i wanna know the experiences that you have and what distros do you use and why you think its the best Smile
The reason: I ill change my O.S. from my server to linux but wanna choice the best option for me . Wink

Perhaps this word would get you better going with your search.

"Best Linux distribution"

Anyways I've good experiences with Ubuntu Server and Debian 5.0.
They are similair and user friendly, and has some good communities for support.

There is no best os.

Each Linux Distro can be modified to your needs. So it is only a question which Distro fits you habits the most. Debian and Ubuntu are easy. I never would use Ubuntu since it is based on Debian. And why use a copy when you have the original?!

There are also other stable distros like CentOS, Redhat, Suse, Mandriva and so on. Just try some out and test which you like the most.

Also Windows is not better or worse than Linux. its just the other os. Again it is the best way to use what you most familar with.
