[CS:S Servers] My ports are choosing randomly?
#1
Hello SRCDS Forum.

I'm currently running 9 servers on my computer with the same IP, but different ports.
In the start i could easily choose what my port should be on the server, by typing it in the commandline.
But when I got my 9 server, my ports are starting to go crazy?!

I type in the commandline the port shall be "-port 27011"
But my server is changing it to 27029 on startup?

So it crash all the time because I say it shall be 27011, but my computer want it to be 27029 - But okay then i changed the port to it, and it dont crash anymore.

But 1 day after another server starts to startup with the port 27028?
And it have been running on the port 27016 for 6 months now?

So how can this be fixed?
- Thank you if you can help, or if you want to help Wink.

I think it's becuase SRCDS doesn't remove it's bound on the port, so each time you start it up it will automaticly take a port number higher to avoid any conflicts. You should use ports 27015, 27025, 27035, 27045 etc. Smile

Also does it crash? Or does it throw you a warning? If so, what does it say?

Well it doesnt say anything.
It stars up normally, but just with a different port,
and then it crash after about 1 minute, with no warnings or anything.
It seems that your theory is right.
I have tried to change all ports to 27015, 27025, 27035, 27045 etc..
And all servers starts up without any crash problems.
But do you think its possible for me to have the ports 27015, 27019, 27018 so not all my servers are changing ports :p?

It is possible, however it would probably keep crashing on those servers, well atleast the two of them (27018, 27019). Also, how do you close your servers? Try using the "quit" command to give SRCDS a chance to release its bounds on ports Smile

Does it run shell commands or does it send RCon commands?
