server.cfg not working

hey guys, i need to know what is wrong with the server.cfg file i have.
the console tries to lauch the server, but then throws errors which i fixed by terminating steam.
but now it just says "failed to exec server.cfg" in cmd
heres the file

Where is that file located? Insite your /cfg/ libary?

no its in my garrysmod folder
thanks that worked but now banip.cfg and banid.cfg arent working, but i dont think i need those

also, how would i go about getting the server not to host on lan only, i changed the cfg file to no lan but it stays on it

You will always see it as a LAN server. But you will need to do several other things before your friends are able to join.

Check your file. If it says "game.cfg" change the name to "server.cfg" that worked for me

i put -dedicated in the start.bat and now its dedicated

No the software itself is free to use for online purposes. However your internet provider may have another eye on it. Who is your ISP?
