Does changing the priority of all 4 of my servers to the same type affect whether or not if they'll lag?

if you do not only change the nice level (which doesn't help much for this kind of applications) but set the scheduling to RR or FIFO, yes. (see my howto how to do that in case you don't know. it's called reshed.sh there).
